For our movie, we thought it would be interesting to make a silent film adaptation of the last several chapters of The Great Gatsby.  With our sparse use of captions and reliance on body language, we were able to set forth with clarity the events of the end of Gatsby, specifically from the hotel confrontation to the end of Gatsby.  We did run into one major snag.  The lack of an open, above freezing pool in the dead of winter required that we make some minor alterations to the ending of our film.  Essentially, Gatsby is now killed in a bathroom while Mr. Wilson kills himself in the kitchen.  Overall, however, our short film accurately portrays the ending of the novel, and in a silly, 1920s sped-up fashion backed by Gershwin.  What could be better than that?
